Event Location:

2508 Coney Island Avenue 2nd floor

Event Description

Rustem Galich’s literary and musical performance “Sunstroke,”

dedicated to the writer’s 150th anniversary, has already received acclaim and enthusiastic reception in many countries around the world: America, Canada, Russia, Israel, and Estonia.
Actor and master of the literary arts, Rustem, will perform three stories: “In Paris,” “The Muse,” and “Sunstroke.” The atmosphere of Bunin’s tales of love will be further enhanced by songs performed by singer Petra Slutsky, accompanied by the virtuoso classical guitarist Anna Kusner. A subtle approach to words unites these two performers, Rustem Galich and Petr Slutsky, who have successfully collaborated on numerous occasions. Now, they will meet at the Davidzon Radio Theater Lounge.

In October 2025, Ivan Alekseevich Bunin, the great Russian writer and Nobel laureate, turned 155. But for true connoisseurs of Russian literature, this anniversary evokes a particularly tender feeling. His remarkable work, and in particular his celebrated love story, “Dark Alleys,” have captivated readers worldwide for decades. Most of the stories in this book were written by Bunin in Paris. It’s therefore unsurprising that this program takes its name from one of the stories performed: “In Paris.”
